Interviews with United States Senator Hugh Doggett, Jr. [manuscript], 1976-1978.

Transcripts of a series of six interviews, conducted on the following dates: September 13, 1976; September 20, 1976; March 17, 1978; and April 7, 1978. Scott was interviewed by Frank van der Linden as part of the United States Capitol Historical Society Oral History Program. Subjects discussed are Scott's career as a Congressman and Senator and his opinions on political developments. Coverage includes election campaigns, Nixon's resignation from the Presidency, foreign relations including relations with China, and domestic affairs, including civil rights.

Hugh Doggett Scott Jr. (November 11, 1900 – July 21, 1994) was an American lawyer and politician. A member of the Republican Party, he represented Pennsylvania in the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate. He served as Senate Minority Leader from 1969 to 1977. Born and educated in Virginia, Scott moved to Philadelphia to join his uncle's law firm.
